Aces walk-off Chiefs to take 2-0 series lead

The Alvinston Aces are a win away from the league finals after a dramatic walk-off win Thursday night.

The Aces were trailing Chippewa 6-4 in the last inning, but a bases clearing single off the bat of Joe Triest gave Alvinston the 7-6 win.

The Aces now lead the best-of-five series 2-0, and can sweep the Chiefs in the second round matchup on Tuesday night.

Alvinston is a perfect 5-0 so far in the 2018 South Middlesex Men's Fastball League playoffs.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
