Sarnia Sting well-represented in OHL coaches poll

The Ontario Hockey League has announced the results of its annual coaches poll, and the Sarnia Sting are well-represented.

Captain Ryan McGregor was voted the best penalty killer and third best defensive forward in the Western Conference.

Franco Sproviero was the second hardest worker, Kelton Hatcher the second best body checker, Mitch Eliot the third hardest shot, and Hugo Leufvenius third best shot.

Former Sting and current Ottawa 67 Sasha Chmelevski was voted third best on faceoffs and third best stickhandler in the Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, the Sting are in Saginaw Thursday night for game one of their first round OHL playoff series with the Spirit.

Game two is in Saginaw Saturday before the series shifts to Sarnia for games three and four on Tuesday and Thursday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
