The Sarnia Imperials completed the Northern Football Conference regular season with an impressive 41-0 victory over the Longhorns in Oakville Saturday. The Imperials end the season in first place in the West Division, two points up on the Sudbury Spartans, who lost to the Ottawa Sooners 28-25. Sarnia will play host to Oakville next Saturday at seven at Norm Perry Park.

In Niagara Rugby Union play Saturday the visiting Sarnia Saints beat Hamilton 28-21 improving their record to 7-2. Next Saturday the Saints will host the the 7-1 Guelph Redcoats. The Redcoats crushed Fergus 43-14 Saturday.

Sarnia motorcycle racer Will Hornblower finished second, 0.092 second behind winner Tomas Casas from Peterborough, at the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia Saturday.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
