Braves split games Friday at National Men's Baseball Championship

Julian Service hit a two-run homerun as the Sarnia Braves edged Quebec 2-1 in the first of two games Friday at the Men's National Baseball Championships in Miramichi, New Brunswick.

Kyle Brietner picked up the win with a complete game four-hitter.

In the evening game the Braves lost 7-3 to New Brunswick.

With a record of 1-2 Sarnia needs a win Saturday against Manitoba to have a hope of advancing to the playoff rounds.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
