Rees suspended six games for head check

Sarnia Sting forward Jamieson Rees has been suspended for six games for delivering a head check against Hamilton's Logan Morrison on Friday.

Rees was handed a five minute match penalty and game misconduct on the play.

He'll be eligible to return to the line up on October 17 in Barrie. Rees was also suspended for eight games late last season after a blindside hit on Saginaw's Cole Coskey.

The Sting host the Spirit as part of a busy OHL schedule Friday night, and will head to Flint on Sunday.

The Sting have lost their first and only game of the season so far, 4-3 at home to Hamilton last Friday night.

Theo Hill won't be in the lineup on Friday. He was handed a one game suspension for removing his opponent's helmet during a fight.

As always, you can hear every Sarnia Sting game live on 103.9FM and 1070AM CHOK.
