Northern Vikings take home bronze in Ofsaa hoops

Sarnia Northern won the bronze medal Saturday at the 2019 OFSAA "AAA" senior girls basketball championships in Mississauga.

The 4th seeded Vikings, led by Cassidy Hirtle's 29 points, beat 7th ranked Toronto Richview Collegiate Institute 52-30.

Top seeded St. Thomas More of Hamilton took home the gold medal beating number 6 Orillia Secondary School 57-31.

The John Thrasher coached Vikings lost to St. Thomas More 62-56 in semifinal action Friday night.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
