Flags netminder notches franchise-record win

A veteran goaltender for the Mooretown Flags became the club's winningest regular season netminder in franchise history Saturday night.

Jake Wilkins turned away 29 of 31 shots en route to a 5-2 Flags win over the visiting Dresden Kings, Wilkins' 52nd regular season win with the team.

The 21-year-old Sarnia native has been with Mooretown since the 2016-17 season, after beginning his junior hockey career with Dresden.

During Wilkins four years in Mooretown, the former Lambton Jr. Sting, has posted a 2.50 goal against average and a .918 save percentage in 110 games played.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
