Sting acquire Stratis from Wolves

The Sarnia Sting hockey club has acquired defenseman Peter Stratis from the Sudbury Wolves in exchange for a draft pick.

Sting General Manager Nick Sinclair announced the trade for the 19-year-old on Thursday.

“With today’s addition of Peter to our club, we are adding an experienced defenseman that can play in multiple situations and greatly helps strengthen the backend of our team. Peter’s versatility, and ability to move pucks up the ice efficiently will be a great fit with our group and we look forward to seeing him in the lineup," Sinclair said in a statement.

In exchange for the 6'0" tall, 187-pound rearguard, the Wolves will receive Barrie's fourth-round pick in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection.

Stratis is in his fourth Ontario Hockey League campaign and is a former first-round selection by the Ottawa 67's.  In 207 OHL contests, Stratis has a combined 65 points and 125 penalty minutes.

Stratis will hit the ice with the Sting for the first time on Friday when they take on the Oshawa Generals.
