St. Pat's makes a splash at LKSSAA swimming championships

St. Patrick's High School blew the competition out of the water at the LKSSAA swimming championships from Sarnia's YMCA Thursday.

The Irish placed first in the combined team score category, first in the women's team ranking, and second in the men's ranking -- the Sarnia secondary school also placed first in last year's event.

St. Pat's collected a total of 43 medals at the event, including first-place finishes in six events.

Gold medal winners included:

  • Gabrion Tulang - boys 13 and over 200 metre freestyle open
  • Christopher Latosinsky - boys 15 and over 100 metre breaststroke
  • Owen Ladanchuk - boys 15 and over 100 metre IM
  • Albert Behm - boys 15 and over 50 metre butterfly
  • Sawyer Johnson - boys 14 and under 100 metre freestyle
  • Kylie Thornton, Arianah Dreise, Asher McClinton, Jolie Burrowes - women 13 to 19, 400 metre freestyle relay

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
