Sting's Rees gets six games

The Ontario Hockey League announced Thursday that Sting forward Jamieson Rees will serve a six game suspension for a head check in a game against the Erie Otters January 17.

Rees, who has already missed two games on indefinite suspension, is eligible to return February 7 when the Sting host Windsor.

A highly touted prospect, Rees' OHL career so far has been plagued by suspension and injury.

He was suspended six games for a bad hit early in the Sting's first game this year, and eight games last year.

Rees was drafted in the second round, 44th overall, by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2019 NHL entry draft.
