Mike Weir takes two shot lead into final round of Champions tour event

Mike Weir takes a two shot lead into the final round of the Champions Tour Cologuard Classic in Tucson, Arizona.

The Brights Grove native had a run of six birdies in seven holes on the back nine of the Tucson National course Saturday to finish at six under-par 67 and a two day total of minus 13.

Following his round Weir said ""I can't recall a time where I've hit so many shots close to the hole. I've hit really a lot of shots that have been almost tap-in to just outside of tap-in. My wedges have been very good, even mid iron game's been very good, and I'm driving it good."

Kevin Sutherland is second at minus eleven followed by Scott Parel at minus ten and Scott Verplank at minus nine.
