Four Sting players on final Central Scouting list

Four Sarnia Sting players are included in NHL Central Scouting's final rankings ahead of the 2021 draft.

Ben Gaudreau is ranked second among North American goalies, defenceman Ryan Mast is 89th among North American skaters, and Ty Voit and Nolan Dann are 107th and 213th respectively.

Gaudreau is coming off a strong showing at the IIHF World Under 18 Hockey Championships where he posted a 2.20 GAA and .919 save percentage in five games. The Corbeil native is primed to be one of the OHL's top net minders when the Sting return in the fall.

Mast, a 16-year-old Bloomfield, MI native, logged significant minutes on the blueline last season and caught the eye of the scouts with his poise with the puck and playmaking abilities.

Voit came to the OHL last season from the Pittsburgh area. The speedy rookie finished the season with eight goals and 28 points in 48 games played.

Dann suited up in just one OHL game for the Sting in the 2019-20 season. In 52 OJHL games played last season with the Georgetown Raiders, the Cambridge native logged 26 goals and 48 points.

The National Hockey League draft is scheduled for July 23 and 24.
