Sarnia golfer dethrones eight-time champ at local event

It was a battle of the Grahams at this year's Sarnia Golf & Curling Club Men’s Invitational.

On Saturday, Adam Graham edged out eight-time champion Graham Hill after a three-hole playoff between the two Sarnia ball-strikers. Graham made a birdie on the final hole to close things out.

Both men fired first-round scores of 70 on a wet and cloudy Friday, and both followed up with rounds of 67 on a much nicer day Saturday to finish tied for the lead at 7-under par for a total of 137.

Other winners over the weekend included Aaron Pedlar in the 3-5 flight with a score of 147, Kyle Ferris took top spot in the 6-8 flight with a score of 155, Matthew Nutt shot a 159 over the two days to claim the 9-12 flight, and Wally Hayes won the 13 and over flight with a score of 168.

The two-day event featured 129 players from across Ontario and Michigan.
