Sting sign Bridgewater to development agreement

The Sarnia Sting have signed defenceman Casey Bridgewater to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

He spent this past season with the Halton Hurricanes U16 AAA team, and was the 97th overall pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection on April 21.

Bridgewater tallied an impressive 11 goals and 19 assists through 31 regular season games played.

General Manager Dylan Seca said he's pleased. "Casey is a player our group was excited to work with through development and main camp. He arrives in terrific condition, and carried himself extremely well," said Seca.

"We see a mobile defender who is just scratching the surface offensively. He’s committed to put the work in, we’re confident he will be an effective OHL defenceman in our league," he said. "Casey will stay with the Stratford Warriors Jr B; we expect to see him in an exhibition game this month."

The Sarnia Sting open their preseason on Saturday in London, and will host the Knights the following afternoon.

Their regular season gets underway on September 29 at home to the Windsor Spitfires.
