Sarnia Sting storm back against Guelph

Sarnia's Easton Wainwright only needed 22 seconds of overtime to score the game-winning goal.

In a back-and-forth game, the Sting pulled out a 3-2 overtime win over the Guelph Storm.

The Storm opened up the scoring four minutes into the first period. It was the second star of the game, Ryan McGuire's second goal of the season, it came off of an assist from forward Charlie Paquette.

Sarnia's scoring started in the second period. Marko Sikic, who earned the game's third star, netted his goal halfway into the period.

Guelph's Paquette got his second point of the game with a goal 7:21 into the third. Ryan Brown followed that up with the game-tying goal less than a minute before the final whistle.

Wainwright wrapped things up with his overtime winner, earning him first star of the game.

Despite multiple power plays on both sides, neither team managed a power play goal.

Sting goalie Nick Surzcia saved 20 out of 22 shots on goal, while Storm goalie Damian Slavik saved 20 out of 23.

The Sting play the Firebirds next in Flint, on Valentine's Day.
