High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The Sarnia Sting continued their losing skid Friday against the Kitchener Rangers 7-3.Rangers left wing Trent Swick started the scoring with a goal 12 minutes into the first period.Carson Hall was quick to follow with a goal 27 seconds later tying the game 1-1.Only two minutes into the second period Marko Sikic scored the Stings second goal.Throughout the second and third period the Rangers scored six times leading the Sting 6-2.The Sting got their last goal with just over one minute left in the game by Cooper Way.Currently, Sarnia is 9th place for playoff contention with 48 points.The Sting will be back at home Sunday afternoon against the North Bay Battalion. Puck drop is at 2:05 p.m. You can catch the game live on CHOK (1039FM/1070AM).
