The Sarnia Sting were defeated by the Niagara Ice Dogs at home 4-3 Friday night.
The Ice Dogs score three goals before the Sting got on the board.
Niagara's Andrei Loshko opened up the board 11 minutes in the first period.
Sarnia's Zach Filak opened the scoring for the Sting six minutes into the second period.
Mitch Young said while it was a good game players can't let a team get ahead significantly.
"[It] was a good effort for 40 [minutes] but we have to bring it for the whole thing," he said.
Zach Filak agreed with Young and said the team did not give it their all during the first period.
"Our game is mostly get them to the forecheck, hit guys, create those turnovers, you get those pucks out and go at a high rate of defensemen. I feel like we did that well in the second and third, we just didn't do it well in the first," he said.
The Sarnia Sting have the night off before the battle of the 402 with the London Knights Sunday afternoon. Puck drop is at 2 p.m. You can catch the action live on CHOK (103.9FM/1070AM) starting with the pregame show at 1:30 p.m.
After hosting the Knights the Sting will then be on an eight game road trip.
