High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The Sarnia Sting lost the battle of the 402 Friday against the London Knights 5-3 at Canada Life Place.Zach Filak scored twice throughout the game, with his first happening under two minutes in to the first period. His second was at the end of the third at 19 minutes 30 seconds. Beckham Edwards also made a goal Friday nine minutes into the second period.The Sting were also outshot 43-23.Meanwhile, goalie Nick Surzycia was named one of the stars of the game for making 38 saves.The Sting are back in action Saturday in Saginaw. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. You can catch the game live on CHOK (103.9FM/1070AM).
