The Sarnia Sting have lost a season worst six games in a row.
They hosted the Kitchener Rangers on Sunday but were shutout 5-0. The last time Sarnia won was on November 2 against the Brampton Steelheads.
Neither team was able to score in the first period with the Sting doubling Kitchener in shots.
The second period is where the Rangers took over as they scored three goals on 19 shots. Two of the goals came from Luke Ellinas while the third was scored by Justin Bottineau.
Kitchener extended its lead just over six minutes into the third period when Luca Romano found the back of the net. The Rangers capped the scoring late in the period with Jack Pridham’s first career OHL goal.
With the loss, Sarnia’s record drops to 7-12-1-3, while Kitchener moves to 15-3-2-1.
The Sting’s next game is on Friday, November 22, at home against the Ottawa 67’s.
