The Sarnia Sting was full of holiday spirit Friday night after its 5-2 win over Owen Sound.
It was Christmas at The Hive where the hockey club collected donations for the Inn of the Good Shepherd. The team also auctioned off their holiday-themed jerseys.
Sarnia's Liam Beamish started the scoring seven minutes into the first period. Tyson Doucette quickly followed up with another goal a minute and a half later.
Beamish received one of the stars of the game for the goal and an assist with a goal by Jack O'Brien. This was O'Brien's first of the season.
Sarnia also outshot Owen Sound 27-21.
The Sting have Saturday off but are back in action Sunday afternoon in Sault Ste. Marie. Puck drop is at 2:07 p.m.
The game can be heard live on CHOK (103.9FM/1070AM) starting with the pre-game show at 1:30 p.m.
