Sarnia stings Brantford at home

The Sarnia Sting defeated the visiting Brantford Bulldogs Friday night 4-2.

It was a goal less first period before Sarnia kicked off the scoring with a goal by Zach Filak nearly eight minutes into the second period getting his 10th goal of the season.

A few minutes later Brantford's Marek Vanacker scored a goal.

In the third period there were an additional three goals by the Sting. The first goal came from Dylan Luecke, then by Easton Wainwright and the last goal was by Ryan Brown.

Goalie Nick Surzycia was one of the Players of the Game with making 29 saves.

Sarnia also outshot Brantford 37-30.

General Manager Dylan Seca said the turn around for the team is the players are playing for each other.

"It's really great to see [the players] starting to surround each other. The energy that you don't see at practice and the locker room is exceptional right now and you can see it on the bench during the games, you can see they're really starting to rally around each other," he said.

The Sting have the week off before they host the Owen Sound Attack on January 10. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m. and you can catch the game live on CHOK(103.9FM/1070AM).
