Sting defeat Windsor in overtime

The Sarnia Sting defeated the Windsor Spitfires Friday 6-5 in overtime at the Progressive Auto Sales Area.

This is the Sting's first win in seven games.

Beckham Edwards got goals 20 and 21 of the season, including the first goal for Sarnia of the game.

Windsor's Jack Nesbitt kicked off scoring late into the first period at 19 minutes.

Edwards said it felt good to get the win.

"It was a great team win for us all. I think we just needed that little boost of confidence and then that comeback win felt really good," he said.

Lukas Fischer echoed the win gave the team confidence.

"The way we pulled it together tonight. We're playing Windsor, they're a really good team. It's almost easy to say we'll look forward to North Bay or we'll look forward to Flint, those are the games we're going to take points. I think it's easy to do that, so I'm super proud we were able to take points tonight," he said.

During the game Carson Hall also got his first goal of the season.

Additionally, Ryan Brown and Ruslan Karimov scored goals with Lukas Fischer scoring the winning goal in overtime.

The Sting are back in action Sunday when they host North Bay. Puck drop is at 2:05 p.m. and you can catch the game live on CHOK (103.9FM/1070AM) starting with the pre-game show at 1:30 p.m.
