Sarnia Sting celebrate 4-3 victory in Kitchener

The Sarnia Sting topped the Kitchener Rangers 4-3 in their second-to-last game of the season.

Following a scoreless first period, Ben Pickell put Sarnia on the board in the second during Friday night's game at Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.

Mitch Young scored two goals for the Sting during the second and third periods.

Jack Van Volsen scored the game-winning goal during a power play with assists from Beckham Edwards and Matthew Manza.

Young and goalie Evan Maillet were highlighted as stars of the game.

Maillet saved 31 of the 33 shots on net.

Patrick Quinlan went in net during the third period and saved 12 of 13 shots.

Friday's win comes soon after Sarnia's 6-3 at-home victory against Erie on Wednesday.

The Sting will travel to Saginaw on Saturday to close out the regular season. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m.
