The Sarnia Sting have traded the rights to defenceman Nick Bogas to the Flint Firebirds in exchange for defenceman Landon Pickersgill and future draft picks.
Pickersgill, a 17-year-old from Windsor, was selected by the Firebirds in the seventh round of the 2025 OHL Priority Selection Draft.
During the 2025-2026 season, the defenceman played 55 games with the OJHL's Leamington Flyers. Pickersgill was regarded as the highest-scoring defenceman on the team with 13 goals and 27 assists.
The Sting said Pickersgill has size on his side, standing at 6'1" and weighing 183 pounds.
“Pickersgill is a strong defenceman with very good offensive instincts. He adds depth to our age group and to our defensive position,” said Sting General Manager Dylan Seca in a media release. “This is another reliable defender who we think can help support our group overall.”
The Sting also acquired a 2027 third-round pick, a 2029 fourth-round pick, a 2030 fourth-round pick, and a 2030 15th-round pick with a conditional 2030 fifth-round pick. The conditional 15th-round pick reverts to a fifth-round pick should the conditions be met, said the hockey club.
