Good Local Showing At SWOSSAA Tennis

Good showing from local athletes at SWOSSAA Tennis yesterday here in Sarnia.

The top two finishers in each division earn a spot at OFSSAA in Toronto in June.

In the Open Division, Northern's Andrew Davies won boys singles and Ashley George from St. Pat's finished first in girls singles. The team of Griffin Allen and Matt Mueller from LCCVI cruised to a first place victory in boys doubles.

LCCVI, Northern and St. Pat's tied for third in the team standings with eight points respectively.

In the high school division, Marissa Mueller (LCCVI) finished second in girls doubles and will also advance to OFSSAA in June in Toronto. Northern's Courtney Tremain and Tristan Haagsma narrowly missed qualifying, following a 8-7 decision to a team from Tecumseh Vista. They finished third in mixed doubles.

Northern and Lambton Central finished seventh in the team standings with five points.
