Sting's Gaudreau wins gold, named top goalie at U18's

Sarnia Sting goaltender Ben Gaudreau and Team Canada captured the gold medal at this year's U-18 World Hockey Championship.

Gaudreau stopped 31 of the 34 shots he faced in the team's 5-3 win over Russia Thursday night to help Canada win its first gold medal at the U-18's since 2013.

The 18-year-old from North Bay took home the top goaltender honours at the 10-team event.

Gaudreau finished the tournament with five wins, a .919 save percentage, and a goals against average of 2.20.
