Former Candidate Raising Security Questions

Kingsville is set to discuss its online voting system.

Former council candidate Derek Prowse and eleven others have written a letter to the town, not necessarily asking for a recount, but addressing security concerns. "What we're looking at is maybe a print out of the IP addresses, and maybe do a comparison with the voter list to see who actually voted. It would be nice to know that somebody wasn't 12-years-old and voted or voted and weren't in the country, but had an address in town."

Prowse says Scytl, the online company who programmed the town's vote, had its system fail two or three times when it originally presented to council.

He's also worried that Kingsville alienated its elderly population with online and mail in ballots this year.

The letter comes before council on November 17.
