SIU Called In After Crash

The Ontario Provincial Police in Essex County has called in the Special Investigations Unit after a vehicle went off the road and hit a culvert.

Officers were called to Sexton Side Rd. around 3:18am Wednesday morning.

While arresting the 57-year-old suspect for allegedly driving impaired, police restrained him when he resisted arrest. He was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries.

A parallel investigation is underway into the crash.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
