UPDATE: Intense Fire On Ottawa St

Investigators from the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall have completed their on-site investigation after a fire on Ottawa St. early Saturday morning.

The cause of the blaze is not being released at this time, but the fire caused $400,000 in damage.

A firefighter is out of hospital now after being part of the team called to a structure fire at 943 Ottawa St. just before 2am. The building has an art studio in the basement, a restaurant on the main floor, and five residential units on the second floor.

Windsor Fire and Rescue Services reports two additional units were called in to help fight the fire.

The firefighter sent to hospital is expected to be fine.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
