Surprisingly Not Much Clean Up

Aside from downed power lines in the region, damage from fallen tree branches hasn't been too bad in Essex County.

County Engineer Tom Bateman says he hasn't had to put any extra crews on duty since the windy weather hit late yesterday.

"Surprisingly there's been very little damage," explains Bateman. "We did have a few incidents where we did clean up some small tree branches, and our signals group was out having to turn some head around that moved in the wind. But that's really not that unexpected."

Bateman says the fact that there's not much to clean up in a wind storm like this one could be a testament to how well they cleared dead trees and branches over the summer.
