Spitfires Snap Losing Streak

The Windsor Spitfires were able to snap a five-game losing steak after taking a 5-4 win over the Plymouth Whalers.

During Friday's game, the Spits were off to a good start in the first period, taking a 3-1 lead over Plymouth. However, the Whalers were able to sneak ahead with three goals in the second, before Windsor was able to tie things up 4-4 as the game entered the final 20 minutes. The Spitfires scored their winning goal with just under eight minutes left in the game.

Jamie Lewis, Cristiano DiGiacinto, Hayden McCool, Aaron Luchuk and Logan Brown each scored one goal for Windsor.

The Spits are back to take on the the Saginaw Spirit on Saturday at 7:11pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
