As of 5:41pm on Sunday, around 2,430 customers experienced the outage in the areas of former Colchester South, Sandwich South, and Colchester North townships.
Hydro One says the outage was caused by equipment failure.
Repairs were made and power was restored around 7pm.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
