New Council Sits In Tecumseh

Tecumseh Council is the last of the municipal councils in Windsor-Essex to swear in its new members with its inaugural meeting Tuesday night.

Long-time councillor and former mayor of amalgamated St. Clair Beach, Guy Dorion, won't be one of the returning faces.

"You know after 29 years of serving the community, it's just an absolute privilege and an honour to serve the people of the town of Tecumseh and in particular the village of St. Clair Beach," says Dorion, adding the new council will have some key hurdles. "To maintain the level of services we're providing, that's going to be a challenge, and I think to continue to improve our infrastructure."

Cheryl Hardcastle and Marcel Blais are the two other outgoing members of Tecumseh Council.

First meeting is set for Tuesday at 7pm.
