PEACE Participants Graduate

The third class of the Police Ethnic and Cultural Exchange youth leadership program, or PEACE, graduate an eight-week course.

The ceremony for dozens of local youth is at 6pm at the Ontario Court of Justice on Chatham St. in Windsor.

This is the third year the Windsor Police Service has used the program to promote understanding and cultural awareness among area high school students. Participants work closely with members of the force in both realistic scenerios and in-class sessions to improve communication and leadership skills.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
