University Ave. Fire Set Intentionally

An investigation into the fire and explosion at a home in the 700-block of University Ave. in Windsor is in the hands of police now.

Fire officials believe the fire in the basement of the house was set intentionally around midnight last Friday. The heat exploded a 1lb propane tank near a couch. The force of the blast bowed out an east wall and caused $150,000 damage.

Nobody was home, so nobody was hurt.

Fire officials brought in investigators from the Technical Standards and Safety Authority and the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal.
