Update: Robbery Suspect Stabbed

Windsor police have charged both a resident and a suspect after a break-in and stabbing at a home in the 2600-block of Meldrum Rd.

Police say three people were home around 9pm Tuesday night when as many as four men kicked in the back door. One of the residents grabbed a knife as two suspects came down the stairs. There was an altercation, and one suspects suffered an abdominal stab wound. That's when the suspects fled.

Ten minutes later, police got a call from Windsor Regional Hospital reporting a 22-year-old man with a stab wound in the Emergency Department. He has a lacerated liver and remains in hospital, but the injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The resident faces a charge of assault with a weapon; the stabbing victim, with break-and-enter.

Police continue to investigate and ask anyone with information to call 519-255-6700 ext. 4305 or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS). Tips can also be submitted on Facebook and at www.catchcrooks.com.
