Arson Suspect Leaves Evidence Behind

Windsor police are searching for a suspect who they say ignited a backpack inside a public bathroom.

On Monday just before 10pm, police say the suspect walked into a building at 892 Wyandotte St. E and set fire to a backpack.

A resident inside was able to hear the smoke alarm and extinguish the fire before it spread.

Police are searching for a white man, 6'2" with a muscular build wearing a green knee-length jacket with black pants. Police also recovered a new CN Holiday Train baseball cap inside the bag.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Windsor police arson unit at 519-255-6700 ext. 4330 or anonymously Crime Stoppers.
