Stolen Vehicles Using Spare Keys

Windsor police are advising the public against leaving spare keys inside their parked cars.

There have been 388 vehicle thefts in Windsor this year. Of those thefts, 50 have been the result of spare keys being taken from inside vehicles.

Police are reminding the public that, while new push button starts are convenient, it's never a good idea to leave keys or key fobs inside cars.

Police add stolen vehicles can often be used for other criminal offenses.
