Early Morning Robbery In Windsor

Police report a 26-year-old Windsor man is charged with robbery after chasing down a suspect early Tuesday morning.

Windsor police responded to a call at 5:55am from a coffee shop in the 900-block of Wyandotte St. W reporting a robbery in the area.

Officers spoke with the victim and learned he had been approached by a man in the area of Janette Ave. and Wyandotte St. W. Police say the suspect started walking alongside the victim, asking for a cigarette before telling the victim he had a knife and that the victim should put down his backpack and leave.

Police had to chase after the suspect briefly before arresting him in the area of Oak St. and University Ave. shortly after receiving the call.

The backpack was returned.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
