Antaya Confident Of Improved Relations

Essex County Deputy Warden and LaSalle Mayor Ken Antaya is planning on a stronger relationship between the county and the city.

"There have been times of course that we locked horns. We just have different philosphies," says Antaya. "Our administration, I think that if we were to look at how they work so well together, we would have a lot of lessons from the way they cooperate."

Antaya expects working with the city on a number of initiatives to be a key theme of the new term.

"The city even though they're an urban centre and [the county] is primarily rural, we can learn a lot from each other and I think we can move forward on a couple of cooperative projects over the next four years that will really benefit the entire region," says Antaya.

County Warden Tom Bain and Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens have already formally met and discussed potential transit solutions.
