UPDATE: Man Charged After Shovel Assault

A 31-year-old man appeared in court Sunday morning after attempting to strike a woman with a snow shovel.

Windsor police closed down the 900 block of Windsor Ave. for a short time Saturday at around 2:30pm.

The female didn't sustain any injuries after the man attempted to hit her with a shovel.

Police say the man had to be negotiated out of an abandoned home before being placed under arrest. He was taken to hospital for evaluation.

The man is being charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and assault with a weapon.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
