UPDATE: Firefighters Battle Apartment Blaze

Fire officials are investigating the second apartment building fire in Windsor in the same day.

The Windsor Fire and Rescue Service says on Saturday around 6pm, firefighters were called to an apartment building located at 810 Ouellette Ave. The fire was contained to a garbage chute and garbage room.

No was was injured during the fire and all tenants have since returned to their apartments.

Damage is estimated at $30,000 and the cause is still under investigation.

Windsor firefighters also responded to an apartment fire early Saturday morning on Glengarry Ave.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
