Spits Down Steelheads In OT

Thanks to a third period comeback, the Windsor Spitfires were able to defeat the Mississauga Steelheads 5-4 in overtime.

During the game Sunday afternoon, the Spits were down 2-1 by the end of the first period. Mississauga increased their lead with one more goal in the second and one in the third. Windsor rallied in the final 20 minutes to score three goals and force overtime. In extra time, centre Aaron Luchuk scored the game winning goal for the Spits.

Logan Brown was lead scorer for Windsor with two goals. Cristiano DiGiacinto and Trevor Murphy each scored one.

The Spitfires will take on the Belleville Bulls next on Wednesday at 7:05pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
