Police Dog Sniffs Out Suspects

After a short foot pursuit through east Windsor, a police dog helped officers locate and arrest two teens suspected of breaking into a garage.

Police say neighbours reported two suspicious males near Arthur Rd. and Tecumseh Rd. E Wednesday at 1:30am.

The pair was soon spotted by police and began to run. After police yelled for them to stop and indicated they had a dog, one suspect surrendered and was arrested.

Police say he admitted they both broke into a garage. A small quantity of marijuana and frozen food items were found in the suspect's bag.

The police dog picked up a scent and the second suspect was later found in Ypres Park. He was arrested. An 18-year-old Lakeshore man is charged with possession of stolen property and possession of marijuana. The 19-year-old Windsor man has been charged with possession of stolen property.
