Trying To Contain Flu Outbreak

The number of confirmed influenza cases at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare is up to two, with thirteen more suspected.

The outbreak is concentrated on the 2 South and 3 North areas of the Emara Building (which have been closed to admissions at this time), but there are now suspected cases on 3 South and in Mental Health.

Executive Director of Patient Experience and Transition Marg Camigotto is asking all visitors to the hospital to stay away if at all possible. "I know that family members are important, and we recognize that. So if they need to come, we request that they do hand washing and they wear their mask to protect themselves, as well as our patients."

The hospital says 56 cases of influenza have been confirmed in Windsor-Essex.
