67's Double Spitfires

The Windsor Spitfires fell 8-4 to the Ottawa 67's in OHL action Friday night.

The first period ended with the teams tied 1-1 and then 2-2 half way through the second. In the final ten minutes of the second period, Windsor scored once, but Ottawa rallied to score six more goals before the third, making it 7-3. Both teams scored once in the final 20 minutes, allowing Ottawa to retain their lead for the win.

Lucas Venuto was top scorer for the Spits with two goals. Hayden McCool and Jamie Lewis each scored one.

The Spits will take on the Kingston Frontenacs on Saturday at 7pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
