Big Contribution From Ford Employees

Unifor Local 200 members are helping the United Way reach its yearly fund raising goal, with a donation of $582,551.

The union, made up of mostly Ford employees, has been raising money for the United Way for more than 50 years.

Site Chair April McLellan says it's so important to be able to give back to the community in this way. "I've personally seen what it's done. Whether it be through the hospice, I mean, the funds with United Way go from somebody that may be a toddler, to somebody that may be 100 years old. There's something there for everybody. Anything they need."

The United Way has now raised $4.4-million, as it hopes to hit $5.2-million by March.
