Kingsville Looking At Tax Increase

The 2015 draft budget in Kingsville is proposing a 4.3% tax increase.

CAO Dan DiGiovanni says inflation on general operations of the town makes up a large part of the tax bump.

"A lot of the increases are just general operational costs. We have to raise money for reserves for various projects," says DiGiovanni. "We felt that we balanced the budget well enough. We invested heavily into our roads again this year and also some of the parks and recreation expenditures that were required."

Kingsville Council will next see the budget on February 18 where the municipal services department will go over its items in the budget. March 11 and April 29 have also been set as dates for budget talks in Kingsville.
