Spits Handle Whalers In Shootout

The Windsor Spitfires were victorious in a 3-2 shootout win against the Plymouth Whalers Saturday night.

During the game, the Whalers took a 1-0 lead in the first period, but the Spits were able to score and tie the game part way through the second. Plymouth inched ahead of Windsor with another goal before the third and were able to hold their lead until the last 29 second of the game when Windsor scored one more to force overtime. After an empty OT period, Lucas Venuto made the difference in the shootout.

Hayden McCool and Lucas Venuto each scored one for Windsor.

The Spitfires will face off against the Belleville Bulls on Sunday at 2:05pm.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
