Home Sales Jump In January

The Windsor-Essex County Association of Realtors says it had a busier than usual January with sales up 24.55% over the same month last year.

A report says 279 homes changed ownership last month, compared to 224 in January 2014. It also says the majority of those homes sold for less than $160,000.

The average price of a home in Windsor-Essex fell slightly in January, down 1.3% to $173,528.

January is typically the slowest month of the year for home sales.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
